LINKS have been forged with a number of professional rugby league clubs as the college rolls out its spectator safety qualifications.
The Level 2 NVQ in Spectator Safety covers accidents and emergencies, crowd monitoring, dealing with incidents, and conflict management.
According to research carried out in 2005 by City & Guilds, more than a third (37 per cent) of customer-facing Britons were verbally abused whilst at work. One in six (16 per cent) were threatened and a further seven per cent were physically abused by a member of the public.
