Leeds Thomas Danby Business Solutions

Harvey Nichols

Chefs from Harvey Nichols have been put to work in the kitchens at Business Solutions LTD as part of an innovative training scheme designed specifically for the exclusive retailer.

The workforce development arm of Leeds Thomas Danby College, renowned for its high training standards and excellent on-site facilities with Centre of Vocational Excellence status for its Hospitality and Catering provisions, was consulted to customise a bespoke course unique to Harvey Nichols to meet the needs of the newest recruits working in the store’s restaurants around the UK.

The first batch of students completed their NVQ Professional Chefs Diploma at the college earlier in the year before returning to the college kitchens studying NVQ Level three. This includes a three week European placement, in conjunction with the Leonardo da Vinci programme, to give them a taste of cooking in another country.

Richard Walton-Allen, Executive Chef at Harvey Nichols in Leeds, said: “The apprentices have all developed brilliantly in the time they have been with Harvey Nichols and Leeds Thomas Danby.”
